Celebrating successes
together and overcoming personal boundaries
Sport is an integral part of everyday life at almost all boarding schools, but in some places special talents can be encouraged
"Mens sana in corpore sano" - boarding schools firmly believe that a healthy mind can only live in a healthy body. This is why sport is compulsory in one way or another at almost all boarding schools. The English, for example, require all pupils to take part in traditional sports on a rotating trimester basis, as this promotes identification, cohesion and the ability of pupils to work together.
However, there are also boarding schools that offer their pupils the opportunity to intensively pursue special talents and ambitions throughout the year in so-called "academies". Below is a list of classic boarding school sports that receive special support. In addition, there are many other sports that can be practised at boarding schools. For more "specialised" enquiries, please contact a counsellor.

Each of the counselors at Daughters and Sons has an area in which she is particularly familiar. Make use of their expertise! If you are unable to contact a particular consultant directly, she is definitely on one of her regular inspection trips to boarding schools.
